Supermodel Caroline Murphy is said to have been a follower of this diet. It mainly aims to convert the body’s pH levels into a healthier balance. While digesting food, the body is considered to be acidic, which would make it more susceptible to illness and disease. By eating alkaline foods, the body will become more neutral and therefore healthier. Many claimed that it even helped with weight-loss, cancer and inflammatory diseases like arthritis.
Alkaline foods include fruits, nuts, legumes and vegetables. Other than those, neutral foods that can be consumed include natural fats, starches and sugar. Acidic food include meat, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs, grains and alcohol.
The No-Carb Diet
Kendall Jenner is reportedly a fan of this diet. Although it is generally used for losing weight, its benefits also include reducing risks of type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
Dieters would be encouraged to consume meat, fish, eggs, vegetables that grow above the ground and natural fats (like butter). Dieters must not consume white sugar, flour, MSG, cooked olive oil, salt, caffeine, diary, gluten or fungus. Nightshades such as tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms and eggplants are also not allowed.
The Blood Type Diet
A model who famously follows this diet is Miranda Kerr. This diet is customized according to the blood type of the dieter varying from A, B, O and AB types. The benefits of this diet include reduced risk of various diseases according to the blood type. Many dieters have also testified the reduction of and various health markers markers such as BMI, waist circumference, blood pressure, cholesterol, insulin and many more.
Its founder, Peter J. D’ Adamo mainly advises people to eat a vegetarian diet while avoiding corn, meat and certain beans. However, this diet gained controversy as the benefits gained did not correlate to its blood type in a study. Blood type A was the only blood type that reported consistent results according to the founder’s claims.
The Vegan Diet

According to several studies, the vegan diet is able to reduce risks of type 2 diabetes, cataracts, osteoporosis, heart disease, colon cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer. Other than that, it will be able to induce weight-loss, reduce pain from arthritis and improve the immune system.
In this diet, there can be no animal-derived products and food ingredients that can be consumed include fruits, vegetables and grains. Even with the lack of protein, a healthy diet can be achieved with balanced meals.
The Clean-Eating Diet
It- girl Gigi Hadid is a fan of clean-eating diet. It can be described as eating simple and healthy food that is not processed or refined. Reported benefits of clean eating include lowering inflammation, inducing weight-loss and creating a stronger immune system.
Dieters are encouraged to eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes and clean sugars like honey, maple syrup and dehydrated sugar cane juice. Ingredients that cannot be eaten include food additions of any kind, food that is changed from its natural form and ingredients manufactured in a lab.
Eating a balanced diet while maintaining weight can be difficult at times. Without proper planning, our diet can negatively affect our health, appearance and even energy throughout the day.
